Sylvia Weinstock Delivers

Exceptional Events Executive Planner, Anna Richardson continually travels the country in search of the newest and most innovative wedding and event planning trends. Recently, Anna traveled to Gotham Hall in New York City for the Wedding Salon Bridal Show, networking with world-renowned members of the event planning industry, including David Tutera, Harrah’s Entertainment, and countless others.

While in New York, Anna made fast friends with the Leonardo Da Vinci of Cakes, Sylvia Weinstock. Known for her extravagant wedding cakes and dark rimmed glasses, Sylvia has produced cakes for celebrities and dignitaries around the world. Weinstock has also been featured on numerous cooking shows, including the Bravo network’s Top Chef, Food Network’s Surprise Engagement Cakes, and Martha Stewart Living.

Sylvia Weinstock’s cakes are custom made for taste and appearance on a client by client basis. Make your reception pop, and wow your guests with up-lighting, a technique used to dress up your reception, creating mood and atmospheres within your space by focusing light from the floor upward.

This new trend in lighting is prefect for adding dimension, color, and unique alcoves to your wedding. Shining light upward from the floor brings neutral colored surfaces to life and creates vertical streams of light and shadow that add height to your environment, accentuating support columns and brightening otherwise dark corners in the room.

By adding color to up-lighting, often referred to as ambient lighting, you can easily heighten the mood, tying the room together by matching wedding colors and floral arrangement, providing the allusion that everything in the room is glowing with your wedding colors.

Exceptional Events is excited to welcome Kori Saxe to our team.

A Michigan native and long-time resident of Farmington Hills, Kori shares our passion for designing unforgettable and spectacular events, understanding the value of having a talented staff and dedicated vendors to execute all the details that make events exceptional. Her familiarity with southeast Michigan and her talent for event planning make her a fantastic resource for all of our clients.

Kori has experience coordinating a multitude of events, including chic beach weddings, black-tie charity fundraisers, and grand opening soirees for the likes of chain coffee franchise, Biggby Coffee.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations from Michigan State University, where she graduated with honors and began honing her skills for channeling her clients’ vision - warmly and with dedication - into truly amazing events.

Her professional and coordinating experience ranges from large corporations, such as Yahoo, Expedia, Kodak, and Visa, to intimate, personalized weddings, and promotional events featuring Olympic Gold Medalists.
